On the possibility of determining the age of fluvial terraces from the magnitude of the disintegrated layer in alluvium pebbles.

ISSN 0367-4290. Geol.journ. 1990. No. 5

Summary: A mathematical model of the process of weathering in alluvium pebbles is proposed. On the basis of this model a dependence is found for determining the time of formation of the disintegrated layer in medium sandstone pebbles and andesite-basalt Crimean terraces. The age of alluvial deposits on different terrace levels of the Alma river is given as an example. The age is determined from the magnitude of the disintegrated layer in pebbles.

Evolution of the planetary intensity fields within seismoactive regions of Ukraine, most recent fractures and shiftings

Geodynamics of the Crimean Black Sea region. - Simferopol, 1997.

UDK 550.34

Summary: Appearance of the naturally oriented diagonal and orthogonal fracture systems in the Earth's crust is determined by the influence of the planetary systems of tectonic intensity fields. The paper highlights the reasons of appearance of such intensity fields, kinds of their symmetry, peculiarities of redistribution of stresses and deformities during shiftings and other aspects of fracture formation processes. Change of the intensity fields time-wise is substantiated and characteristics of kinematic paragenesis of subvertical shear fractures (fracture structures) of the Crimea and the Carpathians are given.
